tired eyes, aching back and a lecture to go!
just last week qy enquired if 3hrs was the time it took to prep a lecture... my friends - its not 3 hrs - its more like THIRTY - ESP IF no one has done any lecture like that before you. the new syllabus presents challenges both to teachers and students. if it was 3 hrs i'd be home relaxing with my favourite bitch by now.
my eyes hurt, my mind is spinning and its only 1/2 done. i'm like... completely completely tired out man. butbutbut! its still nice to activate the brain abit more than usual. that's the lovely part about teaching at a Jay See... you get to do research on your own work, you craft the ideas behind your lessons. at secondary school, they basically throw you a 'package' of pre-prepared lessons and you go and teach exactly what they tell u to do. materials/resources/worksheets mostly provided for. bliss - yeah. in a sense, but hell i wouldn't trade the flexibilty and fulfilment that i experience for a more 'idiot-proof' kind of syllabus (No disrespect to SS teachers! i very much respect their guts and energy - you have NO IDEA how much teaching in a SS does to you - its like you deteriorate in 2 yrs - haggard, worn, drawn out faces - no joke. i just prefer a different sort of energy expending behaviour).
today i got called down to see some bigwigs. when you get called down to see bigwigs, its never a joke. absolutely not funny. apparently someone's (one of US) been spreading some ugly things about us. the words 'stressful' and 'intimidating' should only be used sparingly and with many many profuse qualifications at any time when a team's reputation is at stake. unless you intend to do deliberate harm la. i'm hoping that since i deal with a female dog at home, perhaps dealing with a similar organism in school shouldn't be that difficult right?? well. we'll see la.
