Snapshots of Divine Encounters

Wow. i haven't updated in nearly a month... and it's difficult to do an update on a month's worth of travel but i'll try ok!

I went on a 9 day Contiki tour of the Rockies! A.L.O.N.E.

had a couple of scares.. the first one happened just 10mins after i entered the departure lounge at changi - i suddenly heard my name being paged over the intercom! nearly died cause i was panicking and wondering wat on earth was happening. turned out they just wanted to pass me my boarding pass for the narita-vancouver leg of the trip. (had to do a transit at narita airport)

the second (and rather memorable) scare happened in my hotel room in vancouver - i'd hooked up with the Sandman Hotel - and for those uninitiated, the Sandman chain of hotels is rather good because most Sandman Hotels/Suites in Canada are located in excellent proximity to convenience and transit/transportationg routes - for example, the Airporter bus that i took from the airport, and back to the airport before i left, stopped and picked up passengers from the Sandman! an awesome arrangement, considering i was travelling with a freaking 65l backpack (tips for the uninitiated: don't be stupid enuff - like me - to travel with a backpack if you're going on a more 'cushy/city' tour - the unpacking,digging,unearthing of stuff from your backpack EVERY SINGLE NIGHT will KILL you. invest in hard luggage case with WHEELS! near broke my back lugging it around)

ANYWAY.. I DIGRESS. the second scare was my First ROOM MATE - Alexa. Alexa was the gruffest, most intimidating person I have ever encountered. a Stonefish Silence is her choice tool of intimidation. Alexa works with Australian Immigration, and deals with.... Illegal Immigrants.

Some of the Highlights of my Contiki Trip

1) a 95% Aussie (read: booze-loving tour group)
2) Singing Majula Singapura in front of everyone
3) The Breathtaking Views from the top of Blackcombe Mtn (Whister)

4) Horses, Cows, Coyote, Wolves, Big Horned Sheep, Black Bears

This is my horse, Insane Zane, named because of his propensity to BITE both humans and the butts of other horses! he was hilarious!
5) Meeting my knight (unfortunately his armour was black) and managing a quick kiss and a grope!

6) taking photos with rocks and trees and clouds and nothing much else

7) my awesome roommates at the banff chalets and the homecooked dinner we scrapped together! its Jojo on my left, and Karen on my right.

8) Setting foot on a glacier and drinking prehistoric glacial water!

9) the breathtaking views from Spirit Island, Peyton Lake and Athabasca Falls



10) Friendships made... and my 4.5hr long talk one night with one of my roommates at the international hostel, Barbara
