of sleep debts and inspirations
this week was exciting i tell you - so eventful, stressful, heartwarming and inspiring.
first of all, what was supposed to be a dinner meeting with a long lost friend MW turned out to be a semi-extended stay over at my place. he lost his passport in singapore (enroute to vietnam) and had to get an emergency passport made! as the ICA and Malaysian embassy were busy cutting down saplings to make paper for his emergency passport, MW happily took a break - watched his first hockey game ever, made more teacher friends than he's ever wanted in his life, sat in a class, ate jap-italian-chinese food, hung out with the best company ever! (me la of cos) and spent his virgin night with a Bitch (which bitch? you ask. i leave it up to ur imagination! haha!). i'd forgotten how it feels sleeping past 1am, and waking up at 5.30am in the morning, and hanging out on weekday nights! so.. well. now i remember how it feels like - it feels like i'm getting O.L.D. - can't do no more late nights! i'm happily home on a friday staring at a 2D screen that doesn't talk to me. it rocks!
then there was the case of the boy who has a persistent (unexplainable) pain in his foot, and who got his mommy soooo worried that she couldn't eat/sleep/function the whole week and lost quite a lot of weight. good for mom and boy that all's well that ends well. but seriously i finally realised that when something hits you where it hurts, it hurts real bad. never be a parent. my mantra: have dogs not kids! hahahah (just joking la)
and Then. the highlight of the week was the phenomenal performance of the girls hockey team against victoria. utterly inspiring team work and heart-play. and the magic of it was that our team could have gone either way - given the circumstances of team dynamics - the difference that made all the difference in the world - Forgiveness. Never underestimate the power of forgiveness.
hope that was coherently incoherent. this weekend seems short. yuck. but cheers to the vesak friday next week! ZZZ MONSTERS RULE!
