The Many Faces of かれんちゃん (Karen)

i have to blog about an exceptional girl. かれん (karen) is a 5yr old girl whose eyes speak volumes, whose heart can heal tired old souls and whose spirit is unbreakable. of course, like any other 5yr old girl, she laughs, screams, plays, cries and romps around!

This was her, for 2 mins, on the first day - so sweet and ... typically kiddy right?


then before u know it, she's asking for photos under the table, and when she got tired, decided to try to sleep in a tiny little space between the wall and the log seats.. haha!


i admire pple who are able to create weird faces - like myself and karen! - because we are a different breeeed. and we rock the world!


i also love pple who like taking unusual photos - well, at least, taking photos at unusual locations this is taken RIGHT OUTSIDE a TOILET!!


of course, like the average 5yr old, she loves the beach, and goes there every week to build sandcastles for 2hrs at a time


verrrry JAP!!! hello kitty popcorn (which wasn't the best i've ever eaten btw!) but it came in a cute bag !! :)


she loooovves this game called ''ラブ　＆　ベリ"　(''LOVE AND BERRY'') Love and Berry are names of funky kids who have to dress up appropriately for a dance competition held at different locations such a fashion street, the idol stage, the beach etc. the goal is to choose appropriate matching outfits to suit the occasion - and pple who know me, know that i seriously suck at this. :) but karen reminds me alot of nicole, in this respect. :) very girrrlly!

this is the dance stage of the 'love and berry' game, where the kid playing it has to hit the large buttons on the game set in time with the music and the dance that is shown on the screen. its more difficult than u think.....


in this photo, karen is looking at her love and berry cards! she has quite a decent sized collection of cards. every card shows either a cap/hairstyle/outfit/shoes ... and is BARCODED. to dress up Love and Berry, the kid has to SWIPE the barcode of the card which displays the outfit which she thinks is appropriate for the occasion. for a single occasion, u can use a large variety of cards... its very fun. and also DIFFICULT. i definitely didn't do well for this game. :) u are graded by the way... if u dress well --> high score, u dress inappropriately --> low score and u lose. :(

so if you are wondering how to get singaporeans to dress better, please. consider introducing this game in schools everywhere!


because of Karen, i also got to know a game called ''Tabemono Karuta'', which is a game that tests both ur listening and understanding of simple japanese foods :)


Like any kid, karen also has to get up to go to kindy... haha earrrly ... but in spite of her tiredness she still has energy left to POSE!
