Sushi Party at the Fukui Residence!

Shiaw Jia was invited to one of the locals' house for a sushi making cum lunch session! And she was asked to bring some friends, so she brought me!

This is the AWESOME lunch spread that we helped create! (actually we only put the sushi together, and folded the cold soba neatly into the serving tray... Fukui San did the rest!)


and it all started from.... さしみ (sashimi)!!


we had a crash course on how to roll sushi (its really easy as long as all the ingredients are prepared and laid out before you and you have Fukui san helping you!


so of course we managed to make a nice sushi roll!


The lunch prep took a while, so 3yr old Yo-Chan was sooo hungry he tried to eat the rice scoop!

Spunky Prisoner of War - Nin Nin (a cutesy term for 'Ninja', which befits his personality). Only 4 months old, he was too young to hold his pee and had to be confined most of the time!


and we can't possibly miss out Queen Didi, the Afghan Hound! She was so nervous that 1 min after shiawjia and i stepped into the room that she SHIT! THREE TIMES! on the living room floor. I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry! Luckily, by the end of our time at the Fukui Residence, she was ok with us! :) yippee! looking forward to seeing her again.
