The Reunion

After not meeting up as a trio for 7 years, it was really nice to meet up with sonoko and aaron in tokyo. aaron was in tokyo for a friend's wedding, so sonoko and i decided to take the night bus in from kyoto and sendai respectively for the Grand Reunion.

it was really interesting to see how we've changed and matured since the Asia Pacific Cup English Speaking Contest in Fukuoka in the year 2000. Sonoko brought pics! aaron looked soo young and punky. he still looks punky now, but isn't so young anymore. I looked like a kid. but then i still look like a kid. so. maybe nothing has changed after all.



I find it amazing that after 7 years of absence -- not many emails were sent, and we didn't manage to keep in touch very much -- we still managed to take the time to meet up. Lunch with sonoko was great because i realised that we have stuff in common, and even though we live in different countries for the most part of our lives, we are united through our interests. she is going to mongolia to participate in a childrens' camp! she is learning mongolian so that she can better communicate with the children and, as far as my untrained and insensitive ears can tell, she speaks it like a pro!

its also nice to know that aaron might still be coming to japan again in the near future if things go well... :) :) always nice to hear a singaporean accent and hang out with someone that you are comfortable with :)


also got to know aaron's friends a bit... adrian (goon) and kai. this is a shot of us taken at their little hotel where 2 of them (not telling which two) spent the night together on the same cosy bed...
